KBC Helmets Sizing for Motorcycle Riders

HOW TO FIT A KBC HELMET AND RETENTION SYSTEM:
The best way to put on the helmet is to hold the chin straps to each side before pulling it over your head.  Pass the end of the strap through the D-rings and pull it snug.  Keeping your head straight, rotate the helmet from side to side with your hands.  If the helmet is adjusted properly, you should feel the movement of your scalp closely match the helmet's movement.  With your hands on the sides of the helmet, move the helmet in a slight up and down motion.  Once again, the movement of your skin should follow the helmet movement.  To remove the helmet, pull the D-ring tab outward to release strap tension, then unthread the chin strap.  Pull the chin straps outward, rotate the helmet forward and lift it off.

PLEASE NOTE:

A.  No helmet can protect the user against all foreseeable impacts.
B.  For maximum protection, the helmet must provide adequate peripheral vision.
C.  All retention straps (chin straps) must be securely fastened.
D.  The helmet can be seriously damaged by some common substances with damage being invisible to the user.
Apply only mild soap and water for cleaning.
E.  Make no modifications to the helmet.  If the helmet experiences a severe blow, please replace it.

FITTING A KBC HELMET

Your KBC Helmet is a technologically advanced product that is made only for use while riding a motorcycle.  The helmet can not guarantee the same level of safety for a different use.  In an accident, no helmet can eliminate the risk of serious or even fatal injuries

KBC HELMET SIZING:
In order to be safe, you must select your helmet in a size which fits your head correctly. This means the helmet must fit snugly (tightly but comfortably), making contact with most parts of your head.

If it is too large, it will move around excessively on your head.  If it is too small it will cause constriction and discomfort, which could lead to headaches or a lack of concentration while riding.

IMPORTANT KBC INFORMATION
WARNING:
THIS HELMET MUST FIT SECURELY. THE WEARER SHOULD ENSURE ADEQUATE PERIPHERAL VISION. THE CHIN STRAP MUST BE SECURELY FASTENED. IF THE HELMET IS NOT WORN OR CARED FOR AS DESCRIBED IN THIS INFORMATION SECTION, THE USER COULD BE VULNERABLE TO SERIOUS INJURY, INCLUDING HEAD INJURY. NO HELMET CAN PROTECT THE USER FROM ALL FORESEEABLE IMPACTS.

Motorcycle riding for sport or pleasure is dangerous.  Wear an approved helmet at ALL times while riding.

INTRODUCTION:

A legally approved helmet must be worn at all times to maximize the protection available in any given impact.

1.  For adequate protection, this helmet must fit snugly and provide an exact and comfortable fit.  Try on several helmets before purchasing.
2.  The helmet is made to absorb some of the energy of an impact or blow by partial destruction of its component parts (e.g.- external shell and inner liner) and even though damage may not be apparent, the helmet should be replaced after any impact whatsoever.
3. To maintain the full efficiency of this helmet, there must be no alteration to the structure of the helmet or it's components.
4.  The chin strap must pass underneath the jaw, and must be securely fastened to maintain tension at all times while the helmet is in use.  The law requires that the helmet must be securely fastened to the head.  DO NOT USE A CHIN CUP with this helmet.
5.  The protection given by this helmet may be severely reduced by the application of paint, adhesive stickers and transfers, cleaning fluids, and/or other solvents.  Only use materials recommended by the helmet manufacturer.  For more information, see the General Care and Cleaning section.
6.  Full face helmets are designed for use with a shield, and is not suitable with any type of goggles.  Use goggles only with off road (Motocross) type helmets.

HELMET SIZING FIT AND POSITION

To test the sizing, put the helmet on and shake your head to left and right.  Then shake your head forward and backward.  If it slips easily in any direction, the size is not the correct one for you.  Try to turn the helmet with your hands.  With the helmet on, rotate the helmet from side to side, observing the movement of your skin in relation to the helmet.  Helmet fitting is correct when skin movement and helmet movement is nearly the same.  For proper sizing of your new KBC helmet, please consult an authorized KBC dealer.

Correct Positioning of your KBC Helmet:
Do not put on the helmet and fasten the buckle when your helmet is hanging on the back of your head.  Remember to always wear the helmet in the correct position.

IMPORTANT HELMET FITTING TEST

ROTATIONAL TEST FOR MOTORCYCLE HELMETS

THE MOST IMPORTANT TEST IS TO ENSURE THAT THE HELMET REMAINS ON THE HEAD IN THE EVENT OF AN IMPACT.  TO PERFORM THIS TEST, FIRST FIT THE HELMET CORRECTLY AND FASTEN THE STRAP SNUGLY.  THEN USING YOUR HANDS, ATTEMPT TO LIFT FROM THE REAR OF THE NECK AREA AND TRY TO ROLL THE HELMET OFF OF YOUR HEAD.  MAKE SURE THIS CANNOT BE ACHIEVED AND THAT THE HELMET REMAINS TIGHTLY FIXED TO YOUR HEAD AND THAT THE STRAP PREVENTS THE HELMET FROM COMING OFF OF YOUR HEAD.
