Arai Helmet Reviews - Arai Quantum 2 Reviews

I first tried out the Arai Quantum 2 Helmet last March on a ride-out.
The Arai Quantum-2 is built using Arai's SCLC (SUPER COMPLEX LAMINATE CONSTRUCTION) SHELL, the same  lightweight shell used on the RX-7 racing series.

The Arai Quantum 2 also features ”ORGANIC" SHELL SHAPE, designed to reduce wind noise, buffeting and turbulence. The intake and exhaust VENTS ARE RECESSED to give the helmet a cleaner look.

The Arai chin vent also features a CARBON-COATED FOAM FILTER. Internally, the new Quantum-2 features a WASHABLE, FULLY-REMOVABLE LINER and a REDESIGNED COMFORT LINER.

The SIDEPODS are the same as used on the Arai RX-7 Corsair helmet. Arai's PATENTED CHINVENT DESIGN vent increases airflow capacity in two positions. Position one sends air to the face; the second directs air to the shield for improved de-fogging.

There was plenty of air flowing around my helmet – the chin vent distributes air directly onto the face (some helmets direct this air straight to theback of the helmet).

When wearing heavy winter motorcycle gloves, the small rocker switch button that operates the helmet’s top vent holes was impossible to operate. So too were the visor vents.

In fact it was also extremely difficult to operate the chin vents on the Arai Quantum 2 helmet when wearing gloves.

Arai Quantum 2 Summary:
Pros: Lower noise levels, Good snug fit, soft padding. Great Graphics

Cons: Awkward vent & visor switches.
